THE LOST EPISODE OF LEAVE IT TO BEAVER

The episode called "Wards War". A James Dean looking biker punk type guy guy and his friends buy the house next door. He corrupts Wally who turns away from his friends including Eddie. We see an extremely rebellious side to Wally that even to much for Beaver to handle. The biker punks loud parties and blatent threats test Wards patience as he tries to resolve their differences peacefully. The police are called and this angers the gang greatly. The cops can't do much except give a warning. After that the James Dean character tries to rape June Wally sees the error of his ways but the knife wielding Dean character says that"No one leaves his gang!" Wally is surrounded by them in the gangs house. Beaver hiding outside the window runs to tell Ward. "Golly gee whiz dad their going to shank Wally!" Ward is still with June just minutes after the rape attempt trying to calm her down as he prepares to call the police again. But now hearing of Wally's impending doom finally sets off a rage and the Navy Seabee in him activates. He grabs a hunting rifle from the closet and appears to pry up a floor board containing a belt with various tools on it along with a rather large knife. The scene cuts back to Wally pleading for his life. All the sudden Ward comes crashing through the window as he fires the rifle shooting the knife wielding hand of the Dean character clean off. Due to poor special effects of the time it appears to be styrafoam.[laugh] He yells for Wally to hit the deck and then throws his large knife at another gang member about to swing a large metal chain at Wally. The knife hits the guy square in the chest. Another gang member kicks the rifle from Wards hand and the start fighting old school boxing style although at the end Ward performs a roundhouse kick and takes the punk down. The final punk already has Wards rifle and Ward says,"You don't have the guts punk. You've never seen combat like me." He's about to pull the trigger when all the sudden Wally pulls his dads knife from that guys chest and stabs the rifle holding punk in the foot. Ward punches him clean out thanks to Wally's diversion and Beaver comes rushing in and says,"Gee whiz dad that was neat! Your my hero!" Ward is then seen walking away with Wally and Beaver on each side of him as police lights are seen in the distance. He then says in his usual calm yet stern manner,"Now boys you know it's wrong to handle disputes in this manner. Unfortunatly this was an extreme case and it called for extreme measures. I hope I've taught you the right way to handle these situations." The boys nod in agreement and say,"Yes sir!". In the next episode no mention is made of the incident and everything is back to normal.
